Means of dissemination

Alert messages can be disseminated:

• on compatible cell phones connected to the LTE network;
• on television;
• on the radio.

They can be disseminated:

• throughout Québec;
• in a targeted area and its surroundings.

They are usually broadcast only once. In certain situations, it may be necessary and justified to broadcast an update with important information that must be communicated.

These messages are in addition to traditional media, social media, and other tools in place to quickly alert residents during events that pose a real or imminent threat to their lives or safety.
